Card Design Challenge – Type Change

I want to see your designs for a card that becomes a different type as part of some sort of transformation/transition.


The only existing card I can think of off the top of my head that does something like this is Weaponize, and that just turns an artifact into a textless, generic token.
I'd like to see some more interesting cards using this mechanic on themselves, not just turning a separate card into some token.

Just to clarify it's TYPE, not sub-type (human, beast, etc) or super-type (unique, unlimited), I'm talking Character, Artifact, Location, Ability, Mission. (using Ability or Mission would probably be more difficult but if you can make it work that's cool)

The change could be one-way or reversible, and while it may be practically identical mechanics wise I'm not really looking for a card that is used just to create another card, basically it should be a continuation of the same object/being/effect, just in a different form, more or less.

(Make sure you keep in mind that if it can transform into a character multiple times its stats will be reset each time, unless otherwise specified in your entry)

A bit more complex method of copying something, but it's a decent repeatable removal. You can also reuse it to copy different things after using it to block or combat things by activating its ability. Comparable with Undead Corruption

using Ability or Mission would probably be more difficult but if you can make it work that's cool

Festering Infestation

Your opponent may activate this card to exhaust target deployed character he controls. Festering Infestation becomes 25% more complete for every character exhausted that way. Once it reaches 100%, sacrifice Festering Infestation.

At the end of each turn, Festering Infestation gains an Infestation Level. Once it reaches Infestation Level 4, it transforms into a 14/10 Undead Infested Swarm with infect.

The main force of the sleepers might be gone, but there are still areas tainted by the virus. If left unattended, they might become the cradle of a new outbreak.

Infect

An accumulation of bugs, small animals, plants, corpses and scrapped machines. In times of need even the virus is not picky.


Comment:
 A slight twist on the mission cards. Instead of giving yourself a mission and gain a reward for your success, you give your opponent a mission and gain a reward for their failure.

Lorewise this represents tainted patches of virus left after the sleepers defeat, scattered around the different worlds that have been attacked. Small infected animals, infected plants, persons, machines or land. Not very dangerous as long as someone cleans up the mess, but leaving it unattended might be a bad idea.

Edit 1: to be more IW friendly and not necessarily reflect "how MTG" would do it. Basically the idea is that you kill some creatures and get a nice beefy dragon that redirects an attack with initiative MID COMBAT letting you go all out with WP for some serious damage thus making "Go for the face" dangerous...For your opponent.

Edit 2: Changed completion conditions for the card to reflect total cost of kills rather than number of creatures killed. Additionally, changed Draco to allow for possible repetition of his ability by permitting him to both attack and transform BACK into a mission.

Not sure of IW rulings but for MTG things transforming dont trigger enter the battlefield (or enters play) effects so you might need to indicate a special "when it transforms" to make it work when it transforms.

I think the way this is phrased, it wouldn't work at all. Since the transformation is an activatable ability, you would not be able to move the character until the ability has resolved. So haste would do nothing for the character, and at the end of turn it will return to being a location.

It's the same like using awaken or raise dead on characters with haste, you don't really get to use them the turn you raise them from the grave since you can't move them around during planning phase. Maybe remove the haste and change the transform effect to sth like 'Hostile Terrain transforms into a character until end of turn and is moved to a battlefield zone of your choice.'
