Deck Building / Yagron, House of Greed

Here a deck I have been running which does quite well and there much room to improve it and adjust as you see fit. Some cards I would have added if I had some however you as a player might have cards that can do better with this deck so please by all means.

Yagron, House of Greed
2P Exile. 1P COV

Commanders:
1. Yagron (Select and feed your cards plus card creation with exile perfect.)
2. Hungry Abomination (Main card you are going to play when feed.)
3. Black Bind Witch (Good stopping force if she doesn't get taken out early.)

Characters:
Master of Demons x 3 (Deploy and get buffed)
Adaptive Brute x 3 (Food source plus a nice power house that can do 6 damage to fortress.)
Suffering Verorian x 3 (Soldier of your deck with exile.)
Two Face x 3 (Super food for Mr hungry and nice powerful card.)
Unstable Demon x 3 (Soldier of your deck with exile.)
Infected Devil x 3
Demon of Solitude x 3
Agent Coyle, Superior Symbiote x 2 (Need one of your cards back this guy does it perfectly.)

Abilities:
Recycle x 2
Death Laser x 2
Splat x 2
Denial of Reason x 2 (Your opponent going to be mad after that)
Mark of the Demon x 3
Spontaneous Combustion x 3
Demonic Reflection x 1 (Don't ever use on Mr Hungry you will have two of them.)
Decension x 2

I am guessing after some text entry by the card names you get how this deck works and it can be a right destroyer did a match with an experienced player and power housed out his Warpath Deck.

Don't know if it me reading this wrong but any number of times wouldn't you be able to make it minus 100 easy cause you can do it as many number of times.

Well, the key thing to remember with these "any number of times" overcharge cards is that you only have a limited number of cards in hand to ditch. With a max hand size of 8 and playing this card from your hand, you can overcharge 7 cards for -21.
Of course, with enough resources you could pay 5 to draw and increase your hand size before the end of the turn, but that would be absurdly expensive.

Ahh so it going to be about the cards in your hand only problem with that text on that card it said nothing about discarding cards from your hand. So it comes off as if you can do it many times as you please for that one turn.

Anyone had a look at these effects some cards have with that overcharge they looks way to powerful take a look at this:

Subdues The Meek

When you deploy subdues the meek, you may overcharge it any number of times. If you do, all characters your opponents controls have -3/0 until the end of the turn for each time you overcharged.

Don't know if it me reading this wrong but any number of times wouldn't you be able to make it minus 100 easy cause you can do it as many number of times. Even though it one turn only that still very powerful where is the cost for using something like that? not as if it says for each character you overcharge this turn.

Again I could be very wrong but that how I am reading it anyone else have any light on this.

Any hints to when we might be able to pre order the new set or are we still ways away before that happens didn't see anything in the post as to a date unless I missed it or a date has yet to be made.

Not sure the fd deck you showed me is that bad to have existing, though it is fairly strong.
Hmm, so in general I think rotating out cards is fine as long as you stop making the same mistakes, like if we don't see another Gaohan in oppression or rebellion.

That said I would personally love it if champions were revisited. The problem is they arn't just bad, they also have a really cool concept behind them, and at the moment it feels just like a weakness and a kind of 'super unique'. There is so much design space associated with the champion mechanic and I don't think it is anywhere near fully explored.

Champion mechanic is like a classification only can have this number of cards with specified class at a time on the battlefield. My view it needs to expand a bit further in the classification is what I am going to call it to have more than just Champion like having a Champion and a gladiator two classifications.

Champion, only one can stand on the battlefield at a time
Gladiator, only one or even two can be put onto the battlefield

 
To further add I see the Champion class being like a wall put up one wall then knock it back down to add another one which stopped some issues with Overseer but made walls instead.

What do you think ?

Deck Building / Mistress of Shadow Decks

Hello everyone wanted to start a deck discussion on what you think would make a great deck using Mistress of Shadow as a commander as well as a core part of your deck.

My Deck that I have is a 1 Verore 2 GI deck called Loyalty to the mistress. (Didn't post what my deck looks like but if someone wants to see it I don't mind)

The deck I built was a focus to buffing GI cards them selves as the troops while Rita spawns here little minions for turn 5 play if not played sooner using wealthy noble. Within the deck are the troops that can buff Rita herself to be more powerful such a Support Drone, Verore Channeller and battlesuit. While other cards offer basic power to the deck with support cards to provide untouchable, damage the usual cards from Verore and GI also with some help of Ion Cannon which comes in very handy.

This deck I have played in ranked at the start of order even with the bug on rita and personally the success wasn't bad didn't have very many loses. Some reason for this was people focus a lot of utility to taking Rita out but found it some what difficult when she being moved around the field, has her minion, untouchable placed on her, flying etc..

Overall what do you think would make a great deck using her let me know on this thread.

Promotional codes would be good for players that join they can get a free code for one of the new packs or other packs. Could also be if your away for so long from the game you can log in and get a free 3 card pack with cards from any set. (Only if your away from the game for certain amount of time something like a month.)

Other ideas not sure if this is already in effect from the beginning is having certain amount of IP to start with for players to purchase packs. (This one I dont remember if you already start with some money to begin with been way to long.) Although I see the problem with it as well cause you could just keep creating new accounts to purchase the cards and trade them over unless IW has a bound currency included.

Breakdown:
1. Bound IP
2. Booster having another currency to allow new players that start with the bound IP to purchase the packs with that currency. (The cards that use bound IP should be soul bound till they can start earning IP playing for unbound cards.)

Weekly Achievements or maybe a monthly that can earn you alternate version of some cards instead of end of season rewards from ranked. Its an idea to think about to be fair never know.

yea this is too bad, i really like the game and the card art but this game have like 0 exposure. No one streaming the and it take ages to find a match. Even games like hex and mmdoc have more exposure and players than IW.

What happen to the old IW veterans that used to help new players in the past ? im not going to leave out names, but it seems like most of them already leave the game as well.

No one streams anymore ? not even nova ? has that all ended now.

How do you expect to keep playing the same game if something new was not added with the focus of only correcting, fixing and patching old content not to mention how long would it take to do quote FIX ALL OLD CARDS. Keep in mind mate that new players are not going to look for what old it will be what's new same though you would have if you had to pick between a new model phone or an old one.


Firstly, there are literally millions of examples where balance patches completely change the meta.
- Starcraft 2, Infesters went from being unused to the core component of zerg armies. This completely changed their playstyle from being a reactive ramp race, to an aggressive tier 2 aggro class, with worker harassment.
- Pokemon, Salamence was banned. The metagame went from Dragon/Steel aggro, to Fire/Water/Grass semi stall. (http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue12/ou_threats)

Pokemon Gen4 is now a self sustaining metagame. There are enough counters to everything that the metagame is constantly rotating. With seemingly an infinite number of yoami layers. That should be the goal with any metagame.


Secondly, new players don't care AT ALL what cards are new or old. A new player approaches the current metagame, with no knowledge of what came before.

This is not pokemon its IW, meta can change with patches to cards no one can deny that who wouldn't love a nice change from seeing thinks like hermit, verore etc.. Also huge changes to meta don't come by very often some decks can be very hard to find a counter for unless to do same thing and out play your opponent but who knows maybe we can see more change now.

Here my little slap to the face to those who ask why you should keep playing that up to you to continue lightmare has gave you a game service to play whether you keep going goes to you in the end. Yes lightmare is also part of why you should keep playing IW there role to that is keep providing new additions to the service given to make you come to the decision yea I want to play and continue.

I think you completely misrepresented what was said. No one said not release any new content ever. All they said is the pace of new card content (which you have to invest in to stay relevant) is FAR outstripping the pace of new feature content (most of which is long overdue and players are expected to wait patiently for meanwhile investing in the unending card content).

Also your argument that players should take the game as it is and damn well be grateful holds no weight whatsoever. This is a forum for feedback on how the game, the product and the service can be improved. A comment based on 'Its technically f2p so accept what you get and be grateful and if you don't like it leave' doesn't apply here. It is completely false to think that Lightmare doesn't have to please its player base. Obviously players can choose to leave and obviously no one here wants them to, so we certainly shouldn't have a situation set up where they feel forced into such an ultimatum.

Never ever ever settle for mediocrity and tell other people to deal with it ever, in ANY area of life especially not in a business setting. Luckily I have not seen Lightmare ever take that attitude. They are always trying to make the service they provide better, they don't always get it right but they sure do try and they are getting there.

Well I feel lucky to have this service and I feel other people should also see this is a unique game we got here to play no one else has even created anything like this that I am aware off. In addition good lightmare can keep there head high and go we are going to improve which is great plenty of people want to come back and have a good blast at deck building and pvp atm no interest in doing so yet.

Well, if you have a problem with taking a risk and handing out money for a preorder pack, waiting until the set is released and thinking about it then is always an option. You could even find somebody who's willing to trade their plats for cards from previous sets.

Not whats being talked about. Reth is talking about skipping a few sets 'patiently' waiting to see if IW will improve as a game. You cant really do that without basically losing a lot of your current investment.

The people that need to skip a few card sets are IW. Why are they investing time into new cards, when the old ones aren't fixed yet.

If they fixed all the old cards and released a solid balance patch, they'd create a whole new meta anyway. Encouraging old players to stay and new players to invest.

Yes it would be create to fix old cards however if lightmare made a sudden change to do that right now how bad would that look to both themselves and to us after a 5 month wait so far thus building into its 6 month. I am sure yourself have seen how long it can take to correct certain things not offending lightmare it not an easy task to walk in go this broken yea done fixed it never going to be like that.

Meta wise personally the meta could get bigger with as you suggest fix some of the stuff but in the end players are going to start running same deck types, same cards, structure and play style. Because I once said in a thread before words like this here a deck that really effective this is what works that what I will use thus everyone else doing same especially for ranked play look how many used same decks cause that what worked. There a tier ranked deck thread that gives you an answer as well to why in the end those deck are what going to be used.

With the new set to come out the meta could change what will happen you think people going to be using same deck before which did well and now has been took over by a new designed deck that better. You one going to play this deck you like to play or two going to use this new deck because that it what works ?. In the end this meta discussion from me is just me ranting lol.

Well hopefully the new set etc.. lives up to it I am only interested in how much longer it going to take for something new to be added to infinity wars cause I would love to come and play again. I just need something new to get and spark my interest to come online and play matches with everyone. My best guess is just by my view is that the set wont be till late may or in June so people do not take this as a date of release this is just my guess work on when I think it going to be out.

not bad, but it's not big enough since some gamers play on a 1920x1080 resolution screen :) I'll take it as a WIP though since there are only 3 factions

I can do that resolution wallpapers just not the current ones I have made because If I increase the size of the artwork used its starts to pixels taking away the picture quality. I cant stand having poor quality image but I will give it a go by doing a new one with that resolution see how it comes out.
