I like the idea of having small amounts of new cards come out for each of the older factions. just to keep them up to date. Tho I can see the idea of faction evolution working. Having an old faction retire completely but a new faction continue from the old factions lore as the next step in the grander plot.

As long as the old factions remain playable I will be happy  ;D

I could see optional rules tutorials that go thru detailed step by step with explanations. eg set a turn in place and then watch how the resolution phase plays out in slow motion with pop ups explaining why each thing that happens as it happens.

Not at all of topic. I intended this post to be a destruction to see how people would like to see the balance of trading/buying work.

I personally would like to see some form of in game way of cashing in my in game currency. But the only way I could see that working is to be able to sell it to other players. How to make it work cleanly I don't know tho.

Yer I wouldn't think that it would be to hard to have the first introduction to a new faction as a multiple choice reaction that would determine the type of game you play and also go towards the Dev teams info to see what people think of the new faction.
So have say 3 options
1 Attack them (don't like the faction at all and fight to have them exterminated)
2 Neutrality (bring them in but not really interested in playing them)
3 Form an alliance (like the faction and want to bring them into your card pool)

Could be done with scripted games against or using the new faction.

I am a bit mixed on this. I hate having cards that I cant use. Especially on a digital game!
But on the other hand if IW wants to have any stability on the value of its cards then it cant just go and hotfix any card it wants at any time. Doing so would mean top end cards would loos much of there value as they are the most likely to get hotfixed.

I vote for something along the lines of a scheduled update. If a card is going to be updated then it will get an in game tag that will stay on it for a month or so and direct people to a location that will show what the card change will be. Anyone that has suggestions on the change of can leave feedback can do so.

As Long as the game is designed to work with gold farmers as part of its economy then they are not a problem.  It is when they stuff up the in game economy that they become a problem.

I love the Idea of having events or even the single player efect the plot of the game story. Having something as simple as the a kill or rescue choice for one of the matches in the story for single player that then could be used to decide whether a new factions are released? or even just shape the lore behind them.

With most online games that I have seen you are banned from selling in game stuff to other people for real money. Is Infinity Wars going to have the same restriction? Or will it go the other way and have in game allowance for real money buying of cards and/or in game currency from other players?

What do people think should and/or will happen?

I hate the idea that a faction I come to love could be removed and/or cards changed. Maybe do like most TCG and have limited amounts of cards from expansions so once all the cards from the allotment have been attained then no more will be available in boosters? So I can keep playing my Flaming Dawn but a new player would get cards from a different faction after a few expansions and all the Flaming Dawn have gone out.

Even if the new faction has a resemblance or is infarct a similar faction the lore will still be unique.

This game is going to be epic! Partly for the game itself but mostly for the community that comes with it.

I had a life before I was introduced to IW...... Once alpha is released I think I will have people messaging me to see if I'm still alive, as they wont have seen me in weeks. (at least to start with)

By the look of it 'Factionless' 'Mercenaries' 'Artifacts' 'Civilian' 'Uninitiated' (all possible names) will be the starting point and faction gap filler. So I would sagest they be given minimal lore of their own so they can be merged into whatever faction the player wants them to without clashing with the lore from that faction.

on a second note I would divide all factionless cards into category's.  That would alow them to have some basic overarching lore so have them divided into say Tech, Civilian and Mercenary.

I love playing with lots of small creatures ralying to a grate champion so Flaming Dawn sounds most like me. Kinda concerned that playing them will get me killed from moral tho  :-[
