For those of you who may not know me, I've been around for a little over a year. I haven't been particularly good competitively, haven't been top ranked, not an avid trainer, or rift runner.
What I have done, is try in my own little way to do some stuff that might be useful/enjoyable for others. My main projects are:
- My guide series on cards of IW, as well as gameplay stuff
- The Oppression ranked tier list
- Some fan art on my deviantart page
I hardly realised it, but I've started to drift away from IW almost completely. The daily routine of logging in and playing a few games has stopped completely. I hardly visit the forums anymore, except occasionally to check up and lurk.
I have some thoughts on the matter, and I think a minor hiatus would be best for me, to come back in a while and see what's changed. I think I've just burnt out, and the cumulation of grind, crashes, and exasperation at having to keep up with the meta just took its toll on me I guess. This isn't the time or place to complain, though, as I have a more pressing matter.
I'm considering handing over some of my projects to anyone who's active/willing enough to maintain them. The Oppression tier list will probably be priority 1. I will probably come in and write a small piece every time a set is released to expand on my guide series, so that isn't an issue. My fan art will probably stay as my own.
It's been fun being in this community, and I've met a lot of great people, but lately I think there's a kind of lifelessness around. Probably a subjective thing, though.
Looking back, I think the best feeling was having random people come and tell me in-game that one guide or another had helped them. Those made the effort worth it.
If anyone's interested in taking over any of these, please let me know, although I cannot guarantee an immediate response.
Well, I guess it's pretty obvious which deck this card is trying to boost. I appreciate the effort, but as with many decks like this, the question of tempo is one I have to ask, and might be a more significant obstacle than mere stats to this deck.
Li Feng, Who Touches the Sky
Old xi + Old Harahel (sorta) should do nicely for what the old xi was, sorta. I can see some potential here with overseer mass buffs, but the 2 purity restriction prevents the most broken combos I guess.
Yes, I did miss kung-ji's healing. The fact that this card is not unique can make for some very strong interactions if used properly. I like how he doesn't just complement the hydra deck, but also the Overseer pillowfort.
Jang Liao, The Spirit Caller
Somehow, I don't think the lack of tokens is the main thing hurting shrine at the moment, although I can see what's being tried here. However, I might have been happy even with a slight bump up on the stats. Compare the original rita.
Mass Burial Ceremony
I really like this card. I think the design is very good and very solid except for one thing, it's pretty OP in any sort of mirror match. Sleeper vs sleeper decks would dump the opponent's entire stash of perhaps Last Sleepers or Sleepers of Avarrach in the grave, taking out a significant portion of the opponent's deck.
Alright, this card is going to be cost effective perhaps by the 3rd turn you play it. I think this card is just very slow, to be honest, and I'm not sure what deck this is meant to go with. Nice try, though.
Try to get in touch to arrange your prize, I'll try to make myself available.
I personally feel that Search for the Key is a decent placeholder if you have only one copy of Azael, much like running location draw or mission search can be useful in those kinds of decks. I suppose it can have some other utility versus some of the denial cards as well, although this is difficult to predict.
Alright, I'll edit the warpath one soon. I'm just curious as to what the deck kinda looks like now. I've seen the karani ramp list on Sakuya's post, but I don't know how much the shift to adaptive hulker will change the deck up.
