So what do you guys think will come first, release or phasing out a set?

wut? I just explained exactly what you're missing...

There is no text, rule or interaction in the game that says it has to be in the graveyard when it is being played.

What I'm saying is, there is nothing that says it still has to be in the graveyard when you're playing it. So your addition of 'return from graveyard' to the explanation just breeds more confusion about what the mechanic does.

To nitpick the rest of what you said in the op: the second part is very confusing without punctuation. You should clear up that the option to play it isn't given until the next turn. So you don't have to decide anything until it's time to play the card.
And third, discarding at >8 isn't slower than Chalice, almost nothing is slower than chalice. ;)

Unless something changed recently, this is completely false.

The Exile mechanic never mentions the graveyard, the card just has to be discarded. There is no text, rule or interaction in the game that says it has to be in the graveyard when it is being played.

General Game Discussion / Re: Player Conduct Policy Discussion Thread

I would like to suggest that Lightmare find a policy that would not require punishing a majority of the player base (that uses chat) if it were always enforced, and then always enforce it.

Legally, that would hurt us. We just needed to have an all encompassing legal statement to point at when I go HEY, THAT'S WRONG.

This is basically the thing that offends me.

This document is set up in a way so that any communication at all, by anyone ever, is breaking the rules. Just so that the staff has carte blanche to suspend or ban anyone they dislike.

And don't hide behind that 'others did it too' story, this policy is much broader than any other I have ever seen. I mean, COMPLAINING is not allowed according to those rules...

Then why not have the rules reflect that? And stop acting like it's a guideline just because you will be enforcing it with whimsy. These are rules for us, breaching them *can* get us banned. Breaching guidelines doesn't have any consequences.

Humor? Comparing someone with one of the worst kind of human beeing is humor?

You can do puffy like that on 4chan keyboardwarrior.

Maybe I am overreacting but your post just made me angry cause its dumb and to be funny there has to be a joke.

You do something like this in RL and you can enjoy the taste of hospital food for some weeks kid, seriously.

can we ban this guy (MzudemX) then, new rules and all? Adamtm too, btw. And clearly I have been in violation too.

This is an excellent example of why you can't cite offending people as a bannable offense.

It is in no way a limitation of what you can do with your own computer

This is not true, the rules say I can be banned for running a program that reads stuff on my own computer or monitors my own connection.

To everyone whining about the use of 'nazi' here:
Everyone knows what I mean, would it really be better if I changed it to 'Generic totalitarian regime not at all based on WW2'? Cause that's totally much easier....

Oh wait, can't talk about that without breaking the rules. Actually, calling something nazi is against the rules too.

I quoted the bits I have a problem with.

Generally speaking, this is how it reads: STFU!

The policies can be updated at any time without notice, so please check back occasionally.
Do not  insult other players. (some people are insulted by some crazy puffy)
Do not use language that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, sexually explicit, or racially, ethnically, or otherwise objectionable. You may not use a misspelling or an alternative spelling to circumvent these guidelines. (Seems like Teremus is looking for a new job now)
Do not discourage or put down other players. (lol, good luck with that one)
Do not spam or complain in the chat. (One 'Generic totalitarian regime not at all based on WW2' rule to rule them all)

OK, it's April 2nd now, time to take this down.

General Game Discussion / Re: Card Interactions.
« on: March 21, 2014, 09:38:40 PM »
Xi/sufferer with Ritual Master wasn't bugged. It worked exactly as the card said it should. They changed the card because they didn't like the way it worked, but it was never bugged (at least not in the way you meant it).

You can't use logic on these things, Lightmare does whatever they want anyway, they aren't ones for making the rules consistent.

Game Rules / Re: Some rules lawyering inside
« on: March 13, 2014, 06:26:43 AM »
To Piano: cardgames interact with cards that have been removed from the game all the time, Magic more so than most. The only reason why the interaction mentioned here won't work in mtg is that when a card moves to a different zone, it becomes a new object and any previous connections to it are lost. IW is just about built around the fact that this doesn't happen, seriously, it's the main characteristic of the game. Flavor wise, it also makes sense that Xi would be able to make a spirit of the exile's soul, while its body still came back as a demon, just in case anyone was worried about that.

The secluded Constructor thing might be intended, but the rules say a character doesn't resolve until the resolution phase, so it seem weird to me that you can target it and interact with it during the  planning phase.

As a sidenote, regarding my own OP. Ritual master still has a wrong wording on it. Really people, you changed to wording without fixing the actual mistake. Hold it next to any other card with an activated ability, the discard is still listed as an effect instead of a cost. While in game it acts like a delayed cost instead of an effect.

This got very specific all of a sudden.

No card game in history has EVER let you interact with a card you discard because of ending the turn.

At no point has anyone said anything about immediately attacking with it, so maybe you should think about fixing the actual problem here, which is that end of turn discards happen before the end of the turn. Before you know what happens.

In other news, you can just discard a giant Eldrazi at end of turn and return it to play immediately with for instance a Fated Return (just to name the most recent card that does it, among the many others) and Fling it at your opponent's face.

And I see you avoiding the other issue...

General Game Discussion / Re: Draft Rift Run - Perfect decks?
« on: March 10, 2014, 11:40:44 PM »
That's just the nature of sealed deck. Don't let them fool you, this is sealed deck and not draft.

Plus good decks play 20 times as many games as normal decks do.
