With the relaunch imminent I hope you'll excuse me plugging a project I've been working on:

Despite the name this isn't intended as a competitor to the community wiki - no way could I ever manage a full card list! If the main wiki is a reference manual then my site is a selective and highly opinionated user guide.

Feedback welcome, as long as you don't want me to be nice about the Overseers

At the end of each day without a Community Manager, Counting the Days becomes 10% complete. Once Counting the Days reaches 100% completion, the game loses.

General Game Discussion / Elo k-factor

Has the Elo k-factor for ranked changed since the introduction of best of three? I seem to be gaining or losing about twice as many rating points as previously. Of course it *might* just be that I'm being matched with players of very different ratings, but the numbers seem pretty consistent.

General Game Discussion / Mac Client Update

As of today (5 Nov 2014), when I run the stand alone Mac client it says 'Your version of Infinity Wars is out of date. Please run the launcher to update the client'. Running the launcher updates... nothing at all. I'm guesing there's been an update that hasn't made it to the stand alone Mac version?

For me there's a workround - run the Steam client, which did do a minor update. But I'd rather not do that and other people might not have that option.

Update:
Just remembered where to find the version number! The Steam client now shows v 1.101 external, the Mac still shows v 1.1 external

General Game Discussion / Overseers and Side Boards

Now that we've had time to get used to playing Bo3 with side boards, how much effect do people think this has had on the Overseers problem? My opinion is that the angels have gone from being 'enormously overpowered' to merely 'very overpowered'. My side board is filled with all the anti-angel cards I can muster, but I effectively start the match one nil down then even after switching in my anti-angel cards I still need to be very lucky to beat them.

I know that Order is meant to contain plenty of angel hate, but I'm afraid Oversers are just fundamentally broken in terms of balance. Not just a little, a lot. I don't see how Order can contain enough per-faction angel hate to get round that.

Teremus will probably pop up and say 'wait and see', which of course I will. But I judging by how little side boards have slowed the angels down  I'm not optimistc.

Just nerf the flying rats now.

There's been a ton of spam on the forums today, I've reported a lot to the mods. Does the forum security need to be tightened up?

Non-IW Discussion / Marketing email

Just received a marketing email claiming to be from Lightmare asking me to visit the Facebook page. The attached link redirects via rs6.net (Constant Contact?) and ends up at the Facebook page for... Pluto! Trying to decide if this is a joke, spam or a puffy up.
