Game Rules / "Eaten by zombie" vs "Azael"
« on: August 14, 2014, 12:38:07 PM »
So in one of my games, I hit my opponent a little bit too hard and realized that Azael is coming the next turn. I targeted Azael in command zone with my Eaten by zombie and prayed that it works. And it did, Azael, the ironically undead angel joined my side and brought an army of flying zombies to victory.

Though I won, I'm not sure whether this is a bug. Given the text, I thought untouchable should have activated once Azael is deployed and Azael shouldn't have died. Given how Deflect or Angelify can nullify abilities by giving characters temporary untouchable after they are targeted, would that apply to Azael too?

I don't remember whether I had initiative or not but my opponent had his hp healed and his angels were flying while Azael was still alive.

General Game Discussion / Funny implications

I know it's a card game so not everything has to make sense. Still, if you are like me who imagines a battle going on, there are some weird mental images that can't be unseen.

For example:

How does a Wreckful Walrus destroys a Low orbit ion cannon? It suddenly learns how to fly? Also how does the walrus get stronger from destroying stuff?
How can a Verore Kidnapper stuff a dragon in that cage?
Add jetpack/angel wing to anything. I'm not sure how I feel about an Angelify-ed Granthar, the elder ape dropping bananas of death left and right. Also, he's not wearing any pants, don't look up.
Wealthy noble getting along with Sleepers: "Hey guys, I'll let you borrow some money, remember to pay me back once you finish eating all those brains k? What do you mean by Arrrggg? I'll take that as a yes"
Everything about Sleepers: they are supposed to be mindless and just come charging ... until turn 6 and they suddenly retreat to avoid a mass death.
Tithe collector: collecting tithe from your enemy, safely from the support zone.
Ao shun, dragon of wisdom with a morale cost of 0. "So basically our god has been killed by the enemy how does everyone feel?" "Fine, screw him, nobody misses that stupid dragon".

Any other things you guys can think of?

General Game Discussion / Did Karani make breeding obsolete?
« on: April 14, 2014, 01:22:50 AM »
Newbie here, through the tutorial, I was introduced to the breeding mechanic of Warpath. I thought it's a powerful ability. The creatures already have quality (high strength), with breeding, they also have quantity. But in ranked matches (I'm around 700), all I've seen are Karani decks.

So am I right that breeding is now obsolete or is it only used by higher ranked players? Not that I'm trying to be speciesist, but thematically, breeding makes sense for beasts. Following a prophet, not so much.

Deck Building / Need input on my "Extremely annoying deck"
« on: April 12, 2014, 08:01:28 PM »
Hi, I've been playing this game for a while and this is my deck:
Click here to view my deck.

The basic idea is to spam removals to annoy people and buff VDWs into demigoddesses.

  • GI Alleta & Scavengers provide me with extra draw power to draw even more removals.
  • Verore Alleta for extra extreme annoyance.
  • Beast of burden and Golem are to defend against small creatures and soak some damage since I will not have creatures to play most of the time.
  • Nobles provide extra resources since removals are expensive, especially assassinate. He's an auto include in most deck as I've seen anyway.
  • Airborne scientists are cheap flyers. Also, they act as bait for opponent's removals because flyers are annoying.
  • Kinetically overloaded drones are just something to play in the first few turns and they will grow with time. Kinda fit in the theme of my deck.
  • Vasir is mostly to win more and annoy opponent. Also he's cool.
  • 1 x aether acolyte, 1 x kidnnaper, 1 x desolation because that's all I have.
  • Word of command is pretty versatile. Mostly to kill a support or to combo with death ray.
  • 2 x perils of command to wipe out the command zone. I suppose people usually have one "combat commander" and two "support commanders". They end up as dead draw sometimes but Aletta and scavenger fix that.

No mass death because I don't have any. Is it that necessary? It's a confirmed board wipe but it can be dodged and it kills your characters too. One of my favourite combo is to use Winds of war and attack in the same turn. My creatures will take some damage but my opponents usually won't see it coming. Also, making people waiting in fear for a non existent Mass death adds another point to the annoyance factor of this deck. Plus, I love to play two Wind of war in two consecutive turns.

I'm doing pretty well. Rank 762 now. The only deck I consistently lose against is triple Warpath with Karani. Those beasts are just too strong. Fire storm can't kill them, lighting can't kill them, bullets can but I don't have that many. When an army of furries come knocking at my door, even a demon prince can't save me :(

What do you guys think? Also, I haven't spent anything in store. Currently hoarding 12k IP. Should I spend on Deck or booster pack?

PS: spootyman in the game just rage quit on me from seeing the commanders. He said I'm a sheeple. Is this line up that popular? Is my deck the exact copy of whatever popular deck he was thinking about? If you are reading this post, that's my deck. I swear I built it myself from all the rewards I got.

Edit: I need help making it a good deck. Annoying people is a secondary objective. Don't take it too seriously.
