General Game Discussion / No more Draws for disconnectors...
« on: July 13, 2013, 11:35:10 AM »
Sorry if you have legitimate connection problems but I am running into a lot more matches where on the very last turn before someone loses...I mean they have no more instant kill, AoE, target damage, removal, and an empty field with nothing to block...and all the sudden they "lose" connection and we both get a draw.  Sorry but that is just wrong.

When someone disconnects, until the re-connection feature is implemented, the person still in game should get the win and the person who left should get a loss.

What finally put me over the top on this is that there is blatant abuse of this feature.  Botumenas was doing this to Viper, TohkoAmano, and myself this morning.  He goes into instant play and then disconnects if he is losing as he stands to earn more IP from a draw rather than a loss.

General Game Discussion / This isn't MtG
« on: July 12, 2013, 08:58:27 PM »
People need to stop comparing this game to Magic the Gathering so damn much.  If you like MtG go there and play it, but this is a completely different game.  I know it gets compared to it because MtG is what all TCGs aspire to be but I view this as when MMOs compare themselves to WoW.  If they would quit focusing on being like WoW and do their own thing they all wouldn't crash and burn.  I don't want to see this game go down that same path.

Suggestions / Opponent disconnected from game...
« on: June 16, 2013, 07:35:35 PM »
So is there a time limit or do they just get all day to reconnect to the game?  If there is not a time limit there needs to be or the option should be to wait or leave and get the win instead of a draw.

Suggestions / Merged Mode Timer on selecting Commanders
« on: June 09, 2013, 01:45:35 PM »
So I joined a merged game and picked my opponent is not doing anything.  There needs to be a timer, just like for the turns in game, for selecting their commanders.  If they do not select within that time then they are defaulted to the commanders in the deck they are using.

General Game Discussion / Won't let me invite my choice for Master...

So every time I log on I see this and it motivates me:

But I realized if I wanted to progress I needed to seek guidance form someone.  So I did the only logical thing...invited myself to be my Master.  And when I input the activation code this is what I got:

General Game Discussion / Q & A with Tyonidas on Mumble
« on: May 30, 2013, 10:24:59 AM »
With chat currently down and the recent influx of new players there are a lot of questions players may have while in game that they aren't able to get immediately answered.  I am on weekdays starting at 6pm EST and usually the better part of the weekends.  I will make sure I am logged onto the mumble server for Infinity Wars that way if anyone has any questions regarding any aspects of the game (features, strategies, cards, etc) they can ask me and get an instant answer.  I look forward to helping you online.   ;D

The Mumble Server info is as follows:

Suggestions / Spinning Icon when Hosting a game...

Anyone notice it is spinning backwards?  Is this intended or an oversight cause everytime I see it I instantly think the dragons are flying backwards.   :o

Suggestions / Rulebook Changes
« on: May 04, 2013, 11:45:30 PM »
Wasn't sure where to put this so moderators can throw it wherever they think it should go.  Also, didn't want to flood the Facebook page so I am putting my findings here.

"The Board" : Red and Green sections explaining the GY and Deck are backwards and need switched around.

"Turns" : Number 4..."resolve before yours"...change to "resolve first"

"Turns" : Win Conditions it says there are 3 ways to win the game...I only know of two and you only have two listed so I assume this is a typo and should say 2 ways to win.

"Glossary" : Some words are cut off of the screen on the right and there is no way to move the screen over on the PC to read these (not sure if you are able to on a touchscreen device)

"Glossary" :  Haste says attack/defend immediately...remove defend and add Vigilance as a seperate entry.

"Glossary" :  Unstoppable needs to have something in there about being able to be stopped  by a Martyr Golem or cards with similar effect (when they become available).

"Glossary" :  "Undead Minion" should be re-titled "Slow"

I don't see why we are shown this as it can give a great deal of information away to your opponent about what strategy you might be trying to use.  And I would think the fix for it would be simple as just showing the back of the card in the Trading Post as opposed to the front.

(Haven't seen the polls get used too much)

I realize in RL I can see if the opponent draws a card or if he puts down cards to play but I am sitting in front of a computer screen.  I shouldn't be able to see a real time update of the players hand size during their planning phase.  Might as well be showing when I play a character card by putting one in my support zone face down.  I think during the planning phase, other than when your avatar turns green when you hit end turn, nothing should be shown to your opponent.

General Game Discussion / Recent Update
« on: April 18, 2013, 08:40:38 PM »
Are we still supposed to see someone's game while they are waiting for an opponent?  It says 1 game available but no games show up and I have to click on join multiplayer game to enter it.  Also, I received the TimoutDisconnect error box while in the lobby and not in a game.  This has never happened before and the game essentially was frozen and had to restart it.

General Game Discussion / We need to rant...
« on: April 09, 2013, 03:54:20 AM »
I understand this is a beta and we are trying to fine tune the game but...

I (and others) have seen a lot of people wanting all these different nerfs to certain aspects of the game and it is frustrating.  I would challenge these people to instead of asking that these things be made less effective and essentially bring the game down to their level, to instead raise themselves up to the level of the game.  Because a lot of the things being suggested can be summed up into "I'm losing too much and I want to win so change."  These aren't just my personal feelings...many people I talk to in game feel this way.

2FD + Martyr Golem deck:

I still hear people complain about this deck and I ask myself why?  With the recent patch it is soooooo much easier to beat these decks.  They aren't invincible people, no deck is.  If they are giving you problems just ask me and I'll throw you a list of builds that can beat them.  I can understand maybe getting annoyed with the fact that it is played by a lot of people but there is a reason for it.  It's relatively simple to use, aka new player friendly.  The strategy can be deep but the basic idea of it can be understood by even the newest of players, which is why you see new players using it so much.  It's a good way for them to get into the game and get their feet wet.

Pay 9:  Increase base resource by 1:

People have been asking for the cost of this to be reduced and I again ask myself why?  I know it seems like a lot for 1 resource.  Before I started using it regularly I thought the exact same thing.  But once you get over the initial price shock and use it regularly you will see an increase in the amount of games you win, pure and simple.  People say its not balanced, trust me if this thing becomes 7 or even less for that matter you will be begging for it to return to 9.  The reason why the price is "high" is because it is a huge advantage you are buying into.  Just start using it and you will see that where it is right now is actually a perfect spot for it.

Calamity costing 12:

Really?  Increasing the cost isn't going to increase your handle on the game and therein is the real problem.  I know Calamity can be a pain in the rear when it comes up but it isn't a death sentence.  I played 2 games tonight against a player (he was using 2FD + Martyr) and both games he Calamitied me twice.  Still beat him both times.  If someone is using a Calamity more than likely it is because they are trying to get their bearings because you have them up against the ropes.  And I know how frustrating it can be to get a huge army amassed to have it wiped out by a single card, but maybe instead of punishing the card you should switch up your play style.  This is not an don't want massive amounts of characters on the field because you are just asking to get smacked with a morale hit.  If players would stop overplaying their cards and start thinking of this game in terms of chess instead of checkers then Calamity would not be such a crushing blow for them, but instead only a minor set back.

This is not directed towards any one individual and this isn't coming from just me but many other people who play this game.  And it's kind of cheesy but I'm ending it with a quote.

"I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." Michael Jordan

General Discussion / Single Card Discussion: Battlefield Scavenger
« on: April 08, 2013, 02:23:37 AM »
There was an impromptu meeting of the minds in chat and most agreed that this card was considered forgettable.  And with the introduction of Firebolt it has become even less desirable.  So people started spouting off ideas on how to make it more attractive to use while keeping the same mechanic of it having to be in the defense zone at the end of the turn.  Here are some of those ideas:

- opponent randomly discards a card and you draw 1 card
- opponent randomly discards a card and you get that card
- you discard a card and can bring another character card onto the field
- opponent loses 1 morale next turn

Anyone think any of these would be considered viable?  Or have a better suggestion to make this card more appealing for use?   :-\
