Hi  :)

I may say what cards imo are nearly useless and need to be buffed:

Masked Initiate: The new card Angel's bane is a pure improvenment of that.
Void Split: Kill for 5 with negative is much too expensive. Use it on own cards looks for me much too expensive too.

Bloodbath: Very expensive (and for 3x weak) also because moving opponent chars to defensive is counter the strategy of FD (similar thing with Ireul, but that card is better).

Several characters, but that is nothing new to you I guess.

That are just the cards that should clearly be pushed. There are more cards that are not quite worthy, but you can see it yourself I think  ;)

Did the Martyr Hotfix change the interaction with ancient spirit, too? (redirected combat dmg)


I just found out that the tokens of Engine of reincarnation are removed from the game upon death like the ones of "Xi, who honors the dead", though there is no hint in the text of the Engine.
I suggest a new label/property for characters named e.g. transient. A character with the label transient is removed from the game upon death. E.g. the tokens of Xi then would get that label/property. So one can see just by regarding the token card that it will be removed upon death. Until now one has to remember where that card came from.

Not a big thing, but I think it could create a little more transparency :)

My last opened thread was about the same topic as this, but I did some new thinkings about it, changed my mind and it's not necessary to read the old thread and so I open this new one.

Yesterday I read in the Wiki of IW (
A card is moved to the Graveyard when this effect is applied to it. This effect does not count as killing, dying or destroying the card and does not check Invincibility, Resolve or Morale Damage upon resolving the effect.
I deleted the word dying because I think it's wrong. With this motivation I tested out nearly every card that has "die" or "dies" in its text* and checked if a sacrifice triggers the effect (I used the old Rita for it).

I've found that there are only some exceptions. Those I call bugs. If the actions are intended the textes have to be corrected. Here they are:
1. Resilent slime: No tokens are created upon death (probably because a sacrifice works on all lives of character at the same time).
2. Primal rage: The character's values are set to X/1, but then is immediately moved to the graveyard.
3. Fiery Resolve: It does not protect from sacrifice.

Beyond that I found two other bugs that relate a similar kind of dynamic:
4. Engine of Reincarnation and Boyos ablities do not trigger when a character is sacrificed that is immediately removed from the game like Yobo or the tokens of the Engine.
(Btw. I didn't know the tokens are removed upon death because there is no hint to that. I'll post a suggestion in the suggestion part of the forum for that.)
5. The texts of infected purifier/devil read "When [...] would die [...]". So the transformations are no deaths. But e.g. Boyo's ability triggers. I guess the system just sees it as death.

Suggested corrections:
1. Sacrifice could just cost 1 life.
2. The character survives and does not die. (Notice again the "would" in the text!)
3. Change the text from "die" to "be killed".

4. Just fix it ^^
5. Change the text or fix it :P

Back to another thing:

The damage redirected by Martyr is always non combat damage. Anyone remember the Martyr/Rite of Rage interaction? It was why Rite of Rage had to be changed to only hit non artificials. The Noble/Martyr combo will prevent all damage anywhere.

Oh, that's interesting. Before the patch I tried the combo Martyr + Sinister Corruption + Rite of rage + Yuanshi and it didn't work. Now it works (as intended)! Cool.

Martyr + Protector rly seems OP, but I haven't tried out yet in real games. I have to make a little correction to
The Noble/Martyr combo will prevent all damage anywhere.
You can do combat damage to Martyr if you get the possibility :P

Completely unrelated thing about Martyr/Noble Protector, there are two ways it could work now:

Happens the same as before, except Martyr Golem/Noble Protector combo makes it so that Martyr in the same zone as Noble basically makes everything immune to your opponent's non-combat damage, including Martyr itself.


All damage is prevented, everywhere.

No, I don't know which it is, although I suspect it's the first one. Why? Because when Martyr Golem is redirecting damage, the card 'remembers' both the source and type of damage it is taking. So, in theory, combat damage will remain combat damage and Noble Protector won't stop it. This is true only if that particular bit of coding on Martyr remains unchanged. If it's the former, a 2 card 7 cost combo to make everything immune to AoE will (probably?) be not spectacularly game breaking, if it's the 2nd one we will pound on LM's door to get it changed.

I could be wrong but those should be the two potential outcomes, and we can only see after the patch hits.

In my opinion the real question is, whether redirected combat damage is still to be called combat damage. I'm not sure in general how it works now, but I'm sure that Ancient Spirit's redirected combat damage does not occur his effect at the moment. I don't know if it's intended. It could be just one of the game inconsistencies of the game :P

Anyway if the redirected damage retain it's type of damage, the spirit interaction is a bug and should be fixed.

I've got a good offer in form of boosters that made me rethink my opinion. I'm now satisfied with an offer in form of boosters, but because preordered boosters have the same price but a higher value, I prefer those ones. For that reason I'll probably wait for the next set ("Oppression") with the bargain.

Before complaining about such things, you could calculate how probable this in fact is. Did you? Probably not. For calculation one needs the number of your soulbound rares. But even if we get a number for the probability, we need to know how big the percentage of the players is that get those "unprobable" scenarios. Then we can make a statement about the quality of the RNG of IW. But I doubt that it is very bad.
I have not usable soulbound cards, too.
